Sunderland CCG wants to give local residents the right support to help them stay healthy and well. There are lots of things people can do to support their own health and wellbeing and the Better Health Roadshows will be out and about across the area to share tips and information.
The CCG are inviting people to attend any of the free, fun family roadshows. There’s a range of activities that everyone can benefit from, including:
As well as all this, there’ll be the chance to win free activity passes from Everyone Active.
Debbie Burnicle is NHS Sunderland’s CCG lay member for patient and public involvement. She says, “It’s our role to help everyone in Sunderland achieve better health. The Better Health Roadshow will give local people information, tips and advice to stay healthy and well.
“Everyone is welcome to get involved in the activities and we’ll also be sharing information on recent service developments. For example, Path to Excellence, new ways to consult your GP using digital technologies, our Seriously Resistant antibiotics campaign and changes to Urgent Care Centres.”
NEAS Community Development Officer, Alex Mason, said: “Our Community Resuscitation Team are delighted to be working with Sunderland CCG to promote Better Health in their area.
“We want as many people as possible to learn how to carry out effective CPR by coming along to see us and have a go, and also learn about defibrillators, and how easy they are to use.
“We want to support people to know what to do in those vital few minutes before an ambulance arrives, to ensure more people survive a cardiac arrest and go on to live long, healthy lives.”
